Fine Jewellery Auction Results

Fine Jewellery continues to weather the financial storm with solid results achieved at auction in Sydney on Monday.

The day began with a 415 lot Affordable Jewellery auction which sold a remarkable 91.5% by volume and 108% by value, followed by the 248 lot Fine Jewellery auction in the evening.  Solitaire diamond rings were popular with highlights including a 3.01ct diamond selling for $31,200 against a pre-auction estimate of $15,000 - 20,000 and a 2.45ct diamond selling for $66,000 with a pre-auction estimate of $55,000 - 75,000. A beautiful sapphire and diamond Art Deco brooch (illustrated) was hotly contested in the saleroom and on the phones and eventually sold for $9,300, well surpassing its estimate of $3,000 - 5,000.

The combined auction total for the day was $1,119,012 IBP with 87% sold by volume and 58% sold by value.

53ft Sailing Ketch to be Auctioned

The French Boatyard of Henri Amel has been building high quality cruising sailboats for more than 30 years. The Super Maramu 2000 is one of their popular blue water glass reinforced plastic cruising ketches and its features include:

  • Cruising speed of 8 knots under motor or 10/12 knots under sail
  • Winged shaped lead keel
  • Minimum double berth with forward stateroom fully equipped with all expected modern amenities for luxury cruising
  • Furano radar, MLR Vasat 034, GPS, HF Radio, B & G Hydra 2000 & more

A record of recent repair work carried out on the vessel by Lewis Anchorages will be made available to interested parties.

Estimated at $250,000 - 300,000, this is a very well appointed yacht within its class and will no doubt provide its new custodian with many happy hours at sea.
