Goodmans Auctioneers joined the Bonhams group of companies in September 2003. The Chief Executive Officer Tim D. Goodman has been a prominent member of the Fine Art Auction industry in Australia and New Zealand since 1971.The Company's central office and prime auction rooms are located in the converted 1920s telephone exchange at Double Bay in the heart of Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.
In June 2005 Bonhams & Goodman completed its merger with Theodore Bruce of Adelaide, Australia's oldest auction house founded in 1878.
In October 2005 Bonhams & Goodman announced its acquisition of Stanley & Co one of Sydney's most prominent boutique auction businesses. The proprietor, Dalia Stanley joined Bonhams & Goodman as a Senior Specialist in November 2005.
In March 2007 the Company launched its new Melbourne state of the art sale rooms at 540 Malvern Road, Hawksburn Village. The former Senior Curator of Australian Art at the National Gallery of Victoria, Geoffrey Smith has been appointed as National Head of Art based in Melbourne.Bonhams, founded in 1793, is one of the world's oldest and largest auctioneers of fine art and antiques.
